Your Cross Demands My Life...

There is this song "God Be Praised" sung by Gateway Worship.
You know how songs can just breathe into your soul the way nothing else can. Nothing.
That is why worship music in particular is so powerful.
For me worship songs get into the nooks and crannies no other light can and for just those moments I am free and Jesus has absolutely all of me. That's why leading worship has always been such a powerful tool in my life. I want others to have that too. Just that one moment.

This song. It's not new, but man every time I hear it I just get it. I get what Christ did for me, for you, for all of us.

Today I decided to make a printable of my favorite line. The one that makes you stop and realize I, I deserved that cross. I deserved to suffer and die, I still do; but God He said "no." He said I love you THIS MUCH and His son spread out His arms and died for me, for you, for us. His GRACE is my anthem, your anthem, our anthem.

That is what Easter is about. He died and 3 days later walked out of the grave conquering death and offering me the gift of life with Him forever. Offering you the gift, we just have to accept it.  So my soul can't help but sing Hallelujah.

You saved my life from death
When I was all defeated
You spoke Your promises
And brought life to my weakness
Came as a conquering King
And You warred for my freedom
My soul can’t help but sing
Hallelujah

You opened up my eyes
For the first time I saw You
Your love commanding life
And deserving devotion
You told me who I am
Now in faith I believe it
My soul can’t help but sing
Hallelujah

You’ve made a place for me
Silenced all my accusers
Leading me forth with peace
Filled with joy I will follow
Your cross demands my life
Now Your grace is my anthem
My soul can’t help but sing
Hallelujah

Hallelujah, we’re redeemed and made free
By the blood of the Lamb We have won
Hallelujah, we will sing victory
Jesus conquered the grave
God be praised

Haircut.

My little buddy got his first real haircut. {ie not just a smidge off the top, which is what I normally do}.  MW has this incredibly thick hair. Apparently that is a red head thing along with genes from daddy. Too bad Lo didn't get that gene. Plus, his hair seems to grow at an extra rapid rate. Could be that as a girl I never notice how fast our hair grows, but my word this kid seems like he needs his hair cut every 3 weeks.
SO I thought why not just nearly buzz cut it...what's the worst that could happen...the worst is he now look 7. Cute. But 7. Where is my little boy?! I love his long--er hair, but it was starting to get a little too shaggy. HA!

Leighton Turns SIX {Party Time}

This precious baby girl has turned 6.

It's weird.
She is just growing up so fast.
Full of life and passion.
I still have a hard time believing I am a mom. Let alone a mom to two kids.
I remember when she was born thinking when are her parents going to come pick her up, this is the longest babysitting job evah. No one was coming. I was it.
And here we are 6 years later. We have all survived. It is just astounding how one or two little people just change the way you do everything. Being a mom to her-- well it is really all I ever wanted. I prayed so hard for a daughter and I got her.
Moving on...

For her party we kept it low key. I have never really liked big birthday parties too much pressure for me. HA!
The invite also had to be pink with flowers and butterflies.

Leighton may have a future in some kind of design. She is always designing something. She had big dreams for her cake and I think I pulled it off. Her requirements were as follows: Pink, purple, flowers and butterflies. The cake could not be butterfly or flower shaped. I had to have butterflies and flowers on the cake. Tall order for me who has zero cake skills.

So here is the completed cake. She loved it. It was ombre pink flowers with purple sparkle butterflies.

In lieu of a big party, we have been letting the kids pick a fun activity to do as their birthday fun. She choose a trampoline park. The kids and I had a blast. 1 hour of jumping will wear you out!

Mommy may have had too much fun. Note: don't wear skinny jeans to a trampoline park...yoga pants are a must. :) you are welcome.

Still got it...mostly...made those little pre-teens take notice. hA!

Then home for pizza and cake...and of course presents.

You would have thought that it was Sarah's {aka the "AG" doll's} birthday. Thankfully since she got some big ticket items the gifts stayed to a minimum. I am so over gifts at this point. The playroom is full and they need nothing.

 The "AG" doll haul!
Mommy and daddy got her a new gym bar since the one at Christmas was a fiasco. Of course the head monkey has to test it out. Best investment ever. Wish Santa would have just trusted his big ole jolly gut and did that in the first place...

So there's her party in a nut shell.
Now I just need to get her 6 yo interview loaded...but that would require me to download my phone first. Stay tuned.
