A Bad Mommy Day.

I am having a bad mommy day.
A day where I don't want to be a mommy currently.
I love my kids, I do, but there is no vacation day in mommyhood. Daddyhood maybe, but definitely not mommyhood.

So I do what I do best when I am down. Go blog hopping and look for anything I can find to make me feel better.
I found this HERE. God always knows what I need to hear.

It's My Party

Leighton's birthday was Tues the 15th. She turned two. So we had to have two parties. :)
Not really, but daddy had PT Conferences on her actual birthday so we celebrated on V-Day instead with just the four of us.

I made her favorite dinner, pasta :) and saved back one of my "nursing" brownies as dessert. Yummy!

Then we surprised her with her gift: an art easel. She loved it. This kid loves to be artsy and hasn't stopped playing with it yet.

A friend gave her a Minnie Cookie for her birthday.

Now for the MINNIE MOUSE PARTY!

The invite.

First off this tool is a god send. I am no cake boss and just wanted nice looking cupcakes for once. So I found this at Walmart (I know right, I had to go for her party supplies :/ ) for $12. Best $12 ever spent. It was so easy to use and comes with several different tips and made my cupcakes look more "professional" decorated.

The Minnie Mouse Cupcakes.
The Decor.

Everyone was proud of me for going for cutesy over "grown-up." This was hard for me, but I just didn't have the energy this year to go all out.

The video.
Lo was so excited to see her "baby video" this year. She has been watching her first year video 100x a day for weeks now. I kid you not!

The Eats.

Time for Presents.

This is a Dora book, which she only knows because of her potty seat and "bye bye panties." So when she saw it she started yelling "Potty! Potty!" And trying to show everyone her pull-up. Too funny!
She got so many great things from everyone! Lots of puzzles, books, art supplies and clothes. This made mommy very happy. Toys are a necessary evil, but I am tired of big toys for sure.

All the cousins love to help each other open their gifts. You know in case the birthday kid forgot how. ;)

Cake Time.
Like a goof ball I forgot to put TWO candles on her cupcake. Silly mommy. Let's just blame the new (again) mommy brain.

Happy Happy Happy {as Lo sings to herself}

Micah's Birth Day and Lo's 2nd Birthday Gift from Grandma Rachel and Tom.

Instead of getting a double stroller, we opted for a wagon. You can just slip the car seat on one side and Lo on the other an viola a "double stroller." We have already put it to good use and it works fabulous!

Birthday Shot.
Loading up her loot in her wagon.

Going "fishin." This puzzle is so cool. It is Melissa and Doug {and which of their toys isn't cool?}. It is a magnetic puzzle. She loves it.
She also loved her Minnie clothes so much she had to put them right on. HA!
And FYI Papa, I promised her you WILL take her fishing this summer. ;)

some of the Loot.
I also really like that lace up puzzle she got, yet another Melissa and Doug toy. :) Lots of great toys from the family that will help her with all her areas of development which makes this mommy who isn't so good at nurturing those areas very happy!

Happy 2nd Birthday Lo Lo girl!

Welcome to the World

I wish I had the funds and addresses of everyone to send each of you an announcement, but this will have to do instead.

Welcome to the world Micah Wyatt

on a side note, because I am proud of myself. I designed his announcement myself and printed them all for under $11 (and that includes Lo's birthday invites that got in the mix!)

Micah Wyatt 1 month {Watch Me Grow }

Micah you are 1 month old today! Crazy since your due date just came and went on Sunday the 13th. I have said it before and I will say it again. I am so glad you are my son. Everyone kept telling me how cool it was to have a boy, and it wasn't that I didn't believe them, I just didn't get it until now. It is so great to have one of each. I can't wait to see all the differences.

One Week Old

Three Weeks Old

One Month Old Today

Micah you are a newborn you do nothing. Except a lot of this:

Then sometimes you are awake and do this:

Watching Elmo w/ my Big Sister

My first Super Bowl Game with Daddy!

But then you usually go back to this:

3 weeks old today: prefers skin to paci,
so the verdict is still out on whether he will be a paci baby.

First piece of mail.
You are a real person, you have a soc!

You are a dreamy baby. I was starting to freak out you may be colicky, but so far it was just a fluke day or two. I think your reflux is to blame, although you handle that pretty well. I had no idea this is what a newborn could be like. Lo was miserable {I love her, but she was the worst newborn/baby}.

Daddy has taken to calling you MW {read "dub"}. He is also the one who nicknamed your sister Lo.

Sometimes we like to go gangsta. Right MW?!
Bless his tiny heart, not even the hospital hat fit.

For being a preemie you are super strong. You have already rolled over several times, as in every.time. I put you down on your tummy for tummy time. You could be angry or just chill and either way I come back to a baby on his back! Craziness. Lo only did that like once at your age, total fluke...this not so much. You even have way more neck and head control than she did, must be a boy thing that you would be that much stronger than her.

A little brother sister chat session.

You also had your big boy surgery when you were 1.5 weeks old. Mommy opted not to go in with you. Don't hate me, but I couldn't bear to watch that. The doc and RN said you did awesome and cried very little. This whole experience was traumatic for me. But it is all ok now.

Recovering after said surgery. You slept a lot that day!
I dressed you in your lion so you would be brave!

Nursing is going much better. We go 2-3 hours between feeds even at night. There was a 4 hour stretch the other night, so here's hoping that you start sleeping through the night soon. Lo was 6 months so I will take anything before that!

First bath at 2 weeks. Yes, because we are that awesome.

On a side note your umbilical cord fell off after 5 days! Isn't that crazy? Lo's to two weeks I guess, but still. Makes bath time easier...you know if we were to give you a bath more than once a month. HA!

You sleep in your swing at night, I am trying to transition you to the bassinet, but between you hating it and your reflux I am not gung ho about it. This momma likes her sleep.

Random beautiful warm day in January
First walk.
However, you are a VERY noisy sleeper. You make all sorts of squeeks, grunts and raptor noises through out the night, making it hard to sleep, but I am starting to get use to it.

I have been full on peed on 3x so far. I mean seriously, changing boy diapers is hard.
The first time was when we went in for your big boy surgery. I was mortified when we striped you down to weigh you and I didn't get the diaper over you soon enough and the fountain sprung. It was everywhere. The nurses were nice and kept saying at least he won't pee all over the Dr. but I was still pretty embarrassed that I didn't see that coming. I guess I tempted the fates one too many times.

You have given me several smiles. No they aren't gas, don't bust my bubble.

You graduated to newborn diapers at 3 weeks, you were in preemie and probably still could be but I got tired of buying tiny packages for $9.

You also graduated to newborn clothes at 3 weeks. Again you could wear preemie if you weren't so long. You are long and lean like your daddy, dressing you should be loads of fun.

Rough mommy stats:
Wt: 6# 10z (you are suppose to be gaining 1z/day, so this my guess. Last wt was 5# 3z-Jan 27th)
Ht: 18 (Jan 27th)

Happy ONE Month Buddy!
