Last weekend we headed out of town for our last and only hurrah of summer and we went with friends, even better. We don't really get family vacays around here because let's face it a vacation with my kids is a business trip, it isn't relaxing or fun...UNLESS you go with friends whose kids love your kids and look after them. :)
We have friends with a lake house out at Table Rock, so they invited our entire small group down. 18 of us to be exact. The mommies and kids loaded up Thursday afternoon to head down a tad early and get beds and food under control and the men joined us later that night.
This is my kind of vacation. On the water. Get up, put on swimsuit, brush teeth, hang out on the water all.day.long. repeat.
Here we are locked and loaded for the trip. Big girls in the back.
Little kids in the middle. Paci's were a requirement for these two. HA! They all did so well. Hardly a peep, well except for the occasionally "I'm HUNGRY!!!" from my kids. Seriously, it is as if I don't feed them!
About an hour outside of our destination we stopped for dinner at this--what I deem hole in the wall BBQ joint. They saw us coming and promptly took us to the WAY back of the restaurant next to the kitchen. Probably wise on their part.
Micah is in LOVE with Juju. IN-LOVE!! He asks for her all the time. What can I say she is blonde and older, at this point that is his only basic requirements. So here they are flirting.
I love these girls as if they were my own! Best friends for life!!!
well this one is my own...what a nut.
Ah, we finally made it! They converted the garage to make extra room for guests. The kids thought it was a fun house. Holy lots of kids! {10 to be exact!}
Finally quieting down for the night.
She's the best friend and mom you could ask for. Love how she loves my kids.
The rest our clearly pictures of the fun had on the lake. I am too lazy right now to edit and I had my point and shoot, so not the best, but it will have to do.
We are life-jacketed up and ready to set sail!!
Tubing. Oh.my.word. I was shocked MW did this well. He would have rode this all.day.long.
The faces of MW.
The thrill seekers. Lo and Juju kept asking to go faster and faster.
So tired. He did so well staying up way past his nap time and then he would come home and crash until I made him get up.
Watching Jake and the NLP with the big boys. These two took such good care of Micah and included him in everything.
Leighton was commenting on the "parkles" in the water.
Now for the BIG moment. Lo water skiing!! This was a trainer board which helped them stay balanced, but you still had to get up a bit and then be brave and stay up! I was afraid she would freak if she was left in the water alone when she would fall off, but she did great and held on until the boat stopped!
Just a very brief clip of her skiing. But she stayed up for several minutes. We all were so proud of all the girls for trying it and doing it!!
Night ride.
Good bye Table Rock! Until next year {hopefully!!}
