Oh, Back To School--Back to School {2015-2016}

Another year is upon us.
Today we thanked God for a fresh start each day and for this new year.
It is rough sending her off. She and MW have been inseperable these last few days. She is just such a joy to have around, so it feels like something is missing this morning.

I cried this morning after I dropped her off, just because of the change. I love watching her grow up, but it doesn't make it easy.  Next year I probably will be a hot mess as MW will head off to school. I am not going to think about that at all.

Here she is our big FIRST GRADER. I pray she is a light for Jesus and a friend to everyone.

Meet the Teacher Night

When we went school shopping we knew she needed a new backpack; however they were all $30 and seemed cheap and poor quality. If I am going to spend $$ on backpack it better last the year +. So I showed her all the Pottery Barn backpacks, she liked them, but then daddy found this pink North Face one and there was no turning back. This backpack will last her until 5th grade at least. HA!

It's nice knowing daddy is right down the hall if she needs something or to keep an eye on her, you know whatever. :) It's comforting. They have quite the special bond because of it.

Her Teacher. She seems so great already. I think Lo is going to love being in her class! Can't be worse than last year with 3 different teachers! Whoa. That was crazy. I am happy as long as she has one teacher that is committed to them.

Happy Birthday to a wonderful hubby (who looks on my pinterest boards to buy me new clothes for Christmas!) and a fantastic father, who never tires of playing with his kids and loving on them even after a long day. Both kids love you so much!

Oh Back to School...

Back to school time is here! Ah, my favorite time of year. New notebooks, fresh crayons and pens, and of course starting a new routine. Love it. As is customary we take our annual back to school pic--but of course this particular morning both kids thought sleeping in was a good idea. Do they ever sleep past 730a in their lives? Nope. But today yes. So Chad took his pic with the fur babies.

Then the clowns got up and wanted to see their neighbor friends off and loading the school bus. Here they are yelling out the window "HAVE A GREAT FIRST DAY!"

Chad made sure to wear a green shirt this year, because his feelings are still hurt about everyone commenting on his blue/purple shirts he wore 3 years in a row! HA! {It is just amazing to see how the kids have grown in 4 years!! In 2 short years I will be sending my Lo Lo girl off to Kindergarten. :( }

And I had to throw this in there. My sister Meg hangs out with us a lot, so this past Monday was her first day at her new college. I thought it was hilarious to do one of those kiddie memory pages for her!

Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day to all. I really wanted to send cute valentine's out (like my sister does) this year to all our family and friends, but in typical lazy Michele fashion, I didn't. So I do what I do best digital stuff. :)

Valentine's Day isn't about all the ooey gooey mushy love stuff for me. It is the time of year both of my babies were due. Oh how I desperately wanted Leighton to be born on Valentine's Day. I was so ticked off most of the day when she didn't come. That night (3 years ago) I remember looking at the clock at 11:27p and thinking "well, guess she isn't coming..." {Keep in mind her due date was Feb 27th}. She arrived at 11:27p the next night on Feb. 15th. Micah was due on Feb 13th. He thought he would be fashionably early and come on Jan 16th. Kids.

However, I do have ONE Valentine's baby, well fur baby that is. Happy 6th Birthday to my Tucker James! Not sure what our family would be like with out, but I know it would smell a whole lot better in our house! HA!

 Then of course there would be no Valentine's Day with out this stud muffin:

Yesterday I saw our neighbor bringing his wife flowers. I said smart man, before the price gets jacked up tomorrow. Chad quickly replied "Didn't you get the flowers I left you in the pilot?" 
Me: "huh? we don't do flowers." 
"Yeah, they were in the shape of a camera." 
"hahaha funny guy you are. And yes, way better than flowers and money well spent!!"
Now I am off to go copy cat my sister's photo shoot, you know for scrapbooking purposes. :)

December Jewels

As I was organizing our pics for the month of December which total somewhere near 700+ I found these jewels.

1. Chad's 31st Birthday. I never even posted on it. Mostly because we were sick and his birthday got cancelled. :( However just a day before the great flu of 2011 hit we gave him his present. Doesn't he look hot? I know you are all jealous.

2. We finally got a snow. It ranked just above a dusting but not quite worth your time, unless you are 2. She has been waiting all year for this and I do hope for my sake we get a bigger snow sometime in the near future...

3. As you can see this hat has made its rounds. I think it is great, everyone looks cool wearing it!

* Jumpy Squirrel. This dude freaked me out. Here I am telling my life story to Chad and out of the corner of my eye I see this huge beast climbing up our deck. Then I realized it was just Jumpy. He came to ask us to kindly make him a new feeder...it is getting cold and he is hungry!

So we did and he was happy!

Today Chad {and Daddy} turns the BIG 3-0, 29. {Because if he is that old it means I am too and I am just not there yet...at least I still have two years to get ready for it.} You know since Chad robbed the cradle. HA!

I just can't get over how "old" we are, I swear we just met at college last year! I can't wait though to see what your next 30 years will bring.

Now many of you may be wondering what kind of big bash we threw...nothing. We aren't really party people, we just like to be surrounded by those we love on our special day. On Wednesday evening we went to yummy Sumo with a few close friends to celebrate {sorry no pics, because I am awesome...} and tomorrow we are partying it up with family, with another dinner out to Abuelos, followed by a sinfully delicious ice cream cake from Cold Stone and gifts, if he has been good enough. HA!

Lo, Baby Q, and I are very blessed to have you in our lives. I have never laughed so hard in my life than when I am with you. I love spending time with you and hate when we are apart. I love how you keep me sane when I feel like everything is going crazy.
You make me/us incredibly happy. I love the father daughter relationship you have with Lo, I love watching you make her giggle her biggest laugh and how she {usually} lights up when you get home. You were her first word, she loves you! And I know our son will love you just as much.
