December Jewels

As I was organizing our pics for the month of December which total somewhere near 700+ I found these jewels.

1. Chad's 31st Birthday. I never even posted on it. Mostly because we were sick and his birthday got cancelled. :( However just a day before the great flu of 2011 hit we gave him his present. Doesn't he look hot? I know you are all jealous.

Happy Birthday Hot Stuff!

2. We finally got a snow. It ranked just above a dusting but not quite worth your time, unless you are 2. She has been waiting all year for this and I do hope for my sake we get a bigger snow sometime in the near future...

So happy!
3. As you can see this hat has made its rounds. I think it is great, everyone looks cool wearing it!
4. Lo and her wild imagination. Here she is a tiger.
Toddlers and Tiaras here we come! I see Grand Supreme in her near future. ;)
I am seeing a theme here...maybe I need to turn up the heat?! What's up Home Skillet?

* Jumpy Squirrel. This dude freaked me out. Here I am telling my life story to Chad and out of the corner of my eye I see this huge beast climbing up our deck. Then I realized it was just Jumpy. He came to ask us to kindly make him a new feeder...it is getting cold and he is hungry!

So we did and he was happy!

The end.

5 Minute Friday

Ok I am going to try this five minute Friday thing. I always have so much jumbled up in my head and think "oh that would be a great post topic" and then when I sit down to write it is all gone. stupid mommy brain, that or I think "no one cares what you think." But then I remember this is my blog and I can write what I want to! HA!

I have been thinking a lot about parenting. I have read several new mommies blogs and some of their "rants" are hilarious to me. One because some of them had this preconceived notion that mommyhood would be blissful and easy. HA! Wrong. Mommyhood sucks, in a great way, but it is tough and it isn't for sissys! I don't fault them I thought it too. I am exhauasted, I haven't had a good night's sleep in a year and it doesn't look like I will be getting one anytime soon. Plus, as moms we have this idea that we can make our children be this perfect, little bending to our will person. Newsflash, they have their own wills and like to assert it quiet often even at the tender age of 11 months! It is a constant reminder to die to self every.single.day. However, I am asking Santa for a two week by myself vacation. Think he will deliver?! Yeah, me neither, but a girl can dream.

Wow. Five minutes goes by fast! HA!
Well until next time!

What If

I saw this over at Extraordinary Love and thought it looked like fun. I have so many things I want to blog about, but then I don't. I want something fun to do. So here it goes:

What if I were to get pregnant?
I would just freakin' die. Pretty sure this is now a medical impossibility for us, but let's just say God over ruled that. Again I would die, I would have to be committed for sure. The very thought of one more pregnancy and baby makes my skin crawl. I know it's dramatic, I love my kids but NO MORE!

What if I could have any job in the universe?
This is tough so many things interest me. I really wish I could go back to school and become a graphic designer or be a stylist (cut hair-not sure what the PC term is there). I really don't care for my current degree (Dietitian), but what are you going to do. However, the job I have now, SAHM is pretty great. It is that job I never knew I wanted and so thankful (most days) I get to do it.

What if I had a day to myself?
A day with no whinning, mommy "why?," fussing and crying. I relish the thought. I seriously probably have no idea what I would do with myself. Sleep all day? I think yes!

What if I could get married all over again?
I loved my winter wonderland wedding. I don't think I would change much except the date I really wanted a New Year's Eve Wedding, but that fell on a Wednesday that year. :( However, I do think a fall wedding would have been cool and a bigger budget, but really in the grand scheme of things a wedding is a day and a marriage is a lifetime, so blowing tons of money would have never been my style.

What if I could live anywhere in the U.S.?
This may surprise you but I actually LIKE living in KS. I know it is flat and there are no oceans or mountain ranges, but I like it here. This is where my family is, this is where I grew up, living anywhere else would be weird.

What if I could have any talent in the world?
Again with the designing and photography. I wish I had an eye for design and could capture moments perfectly like my friends do.

What if you met me in real life?
I think you would realize what you see is what you get. How I am on here is how I am in real life. Although, my brand of funny doesn't translate too well on here, so hopefully you would think I was funnier in person. :)

What if I went back to school?
I don't want to go back to school to study! I just miss those carefree days, you know when you thought you were "busy" and had no time to yourself.

What if money weren't an object?
I would pay off all our student loan debt. I would hand out money right and left to help my family get things they need. Pay for my sister's college, my kids' college. Go on fun vacations. Oh the possibilities if money were no object.

What if I could meet one celebrity?
I would be so embarrassed to meet a celebrity. I would probably act like a total dork, or just come off rude because I didn't want to be "one of those" fans. But Reese Witherspoon is my all time fav, she seems so friendly, funny and down to earth.

What if I could only shop at one store for the rest of my life?
Is money still no object?! Already pretty much only shop at Target, so I guess I will leave it at that.

What if I could choose an animal/pet?
I don't get this one, probably because my comprehension level is low, but if I could choose and exotic pet--it is a giraffe hands down.

But if we are talking realistically, it would still be a poodle.

What if I could go on a trip right now?
A cruise. I am DYING to get back on one!!

What if I had to choose between a house cleaner and a professional chef?
This isn't even a question, house cleaner please! I like cleaning, but I never get to appreciate because as soon as I finish one room I have three two kids come in and mess it up! Too much work.
What if I had the option to get plastic surgery?
I am not sure I would actually go through with it even if I could, but I wouldn't mind being a little bit more well endowed up top.

Sort of an awkard question to end on...but there you have it.

And I had to include a pic of my two cute Wildcat fans!

Momma Needs One of These

I think this is so funny. All chores should be decided like this.

I CAN Teach My Child

For the most part I am not that mother that goes around "teaching" her daughter everything before she turns two. I am fairly confident she will know most her colors and numbers by kindergarten and maybe could read a word or two. Fairly confident...

We like to just play.

However, I see so many cool blogs on "teaching" your kids. Then I think I should be cool like that too, and I try an idea and it fails. She has no desire to "learn" at least from me, Elmo, yes, me No! Sort of makes me sad that Super Why and Elmo (and daddy too) has pretty much taught her all she knows. ::sigh:: But I am {slowly} becoming ok with that. I guess.

Anyways, I love crafts and I can't wait until she gets more dexterous so we can do even more crafts. I saw this craft project on I can teach my child {click the link for instructions--I used foam, so it would last FOREVER ;)} and I thought we can do that, she loves tracing her hands and feet! So we did it! Yay mommy! She even glued them on herself. Yay mommy again! Minimal glue was spilled. I am feeling very proud of myself and this is the best Christmas gift she could give me, to always cherish her hands and feet for years to come.

So Proud of her craft! She couldn't wait to show daddy!!

So I guess I can teach my child...something.

My Momma Always Told Me...

...this is why you have kids.

So they can do the chores for you! ;) Lo is such a great little helper and neat freak. I love having a little helper.

She is so funny, I will see her take off for her potty chair (which doubles as a step stool), slam the lid shut and carry it over to me so she can help.

Here are some recent pics of all her helping.

I love her.

These Shoes Are Made For Walkin'

Lo loves to go on walks, so we try to take her after dinner. She will grab her shoes and say "waaaaalllk."

I haven't clocked it yet, but she actually walks nearly 3/4-1 mile with us before needing to get in her stroller, so she was in need of some good walkin' shoes. So we found this steal of a deal at Famous Footwear for $15 (considering most Nike shoes for babies start at $30-$40)! Aren't they to die for?!!?

She loves her Nikes too and wants to wear them every where we go from morning 'til night!

Littlest Bat Girl and a Play date

We had a super busy Saturday, but it was also super fun.
We had a birthday party for a friend's little boy at 10am at our church. They do everything for you and it was in this super cool play place. Last year Lo was only 1 month old, so she didn't have too much fun. This year she had a blast! Another little girl took Lo all through the play place...uh, I crawled up there, but it wasn't pretty, it was really nice to have a 11 year old go through the tunnels and down the slide with Lo!
It was Batman themed and his mommy did a super fabulous job! She made capes and masks for all the kids...so cute! Lo was the littlest batgirl there.
Anyway, here is a little glimpse of batgirl!

The mask (and cape for that matter) didn't last long...but it sure was cute.
She was so excited!!
Leighton had such a blast, but was definitely worn out from all the excitement!

Next up after lunch we had 1 final play date with Jendy, Chelsey AND Melissa, before Melissa and Landrey head North. We met up at Jendy's parents house and had a blast. Jendy's mom had a fruit and cheese tray for us to snack on, but the babies ate more of it then we did. HA! They are such little piggies!

Greeting Brody with "love" pats...remember when I talked about the little ones?! :/

Playing some pool :)

Landrey loved the bird. Lo not so much. I have never seen her freak out so much over something before...it was pretty humorous.

The makings of a good mommy. She was trying to rock baby Kinsley.
I think she thought this was one of her babies.
Group shot...so much going on here, but I will just leave it to your imaginations ;)
It isn't going to be the same when Melissa is gone, but I suppose it will be that much more fun when she comes home. However, Brody is hoping more boys join! :)

Ah, and then after all that we LOST an hour of sleep...who hates this day as much as me!?!?
Oh well, it was all worth it and bunches of fun!
Hope you all had a great weekend!

Every Girl...

Needs a pair of RED shoes.
I got these great shoes for $1 at the Britches and Lace Consignment sale this past week!
Along with this super cute poodle dress I found Melissa found. :)

Blogger Award

I was given this fun award by my newest bloggy friend, Kelley!

It is now my turn to choose some beautiful bloggers to award and tell you all 7 random facts about myself!

Beautiful Bloggers:

And my 7 random facts:
1. My all time favorite show is Friends. I can quote nearly every line in every show. Ask me any Friends question and I know the answer and which season (and more often than not which episode) it comes from.
2. I am a maker of lists. I have lists all over the place...it is like I can not function unless it is written down.
EDIT: I have been cleaning off my desk to make a "playroom" and I came across 5 different to-do lists! HA! It was nice that I could check most of the stuff off...just found it amusing.
3. I don't remember the first time Chad and I met (according to him). We still debate about this because he tells the story and I remember everything he says EXCEPT him being there...weird.
4. I have a real knack for solving crime shows within the first 5-7 minutes. Just call me Patrick Jane. :) (I heart the Mentalist!)
5. I use to hate despise green beans, but then I got pregnant and then they sounded good. Well, now I love them!
6. I love fashion/make-up and hair, BUT...I just can't get myself to get out of my sweats and ponytail. HA!
7. I never ever wanted to be a SAHM (stay-at-home-mom) I WANTED to work. Then I got pregnant...honestly I can not imagine doing anything else then being Leighton's mom!
