Family Baby Shower

This was the mother of all baby showers. My wonderful family put this on for me and it was fantastic. It was suppose to be a "come and go" type shower, but evidently everyone just stayed. HA! Oh well, it was so much fun and boy, I mean girl, did we clean up. HA!

The shower was in the morning so they had a little brunch type table set for us to  munch on. Delish. It was also fun because my sister and my bestie Jendy were there in all their pregnant belly glory. We 3 have done everything together, so it is really special to be pregnant together now. Jendy and I are only 2 weeks apart. Her due date is Feb. 15th. I may or may not be a tad jealous she is going to have her baby boy before me at this point.

Ninth Month Pregnancy Reflection

Girl or boy? Now that I've gotten to know you, I think you will be a:
I already know you are a sweet little girl! We have had two sonos to prove it! While there are plenty of "negative Nancys" out there that have to comment otherwise, I have ALWAYS thought and believed you were a little girl! I have never felt otherwise! I will be BLOWN AWAY if you turn out to be a little boy!

My favorite names for you are:
Your name will be Leighton Olivia! It didn't take us long to settle on this one. I did have a huge list, b/c your daddy didn't like the original first name I picked for you.  Plus, daddy is a school teacher and insisted that the name NOT be on the top 10 list! :) Goofy daddy!

The strangest name someone suggested is:
Chad's co-teachers thought baby Slim would be a good name choice! We didn't really take suggestions from people b/c we didn't want their input! We wanted it to be our choice.

The most useful advice I've received is:
I LOVE advice, so all of it is useful to me! I don't have the faintest idea on how to be a mom. I am scared silly a bit.

I can't wait for your birth because:
I am so selfish! I want to meet you for one and two you are killing me! I am so uncomfortable, I am dying from the heartburn and frequent trips to the bathroom. But most of all I do really just want to look at your precious face and see the beautiful human life your daddy and I created!

At this month's prenatal visit, I learned that:
Well, now that we are on weekly visits I basically learn how far I am progressing. Right now I am 1cm/50% effaced/-3 station! So it is progress, hopefully you will be here soon!

36.5 Weeks and Progress

Well, I went to my OB toady and we have progress people! I am at 1cm/50% effaced and -3 Station! I know it is just the beginning, but it IS progress! So hopefully she will be here before my due date?! I love you my sweet little baby, but mommy is beyond ready for you to come out! My heartburn has hit an all new high (hopefully, this means we will have lots of hair!!! :) ) I am uncomfortable as they come, all of which I can cope with, but the severe cramping on my pelvic floor (according to the doc it is you big head --ok so, maybe it is  I that say you have a big head like daddy! HA!-- is pushing down trying to come out! ) and the irregular contractions off and on for the last several days I am having is not something I can deal with for long! Contrary to popular belief I am not Sydney Bristow. :) Basically it is all getting to be too much for me. Some women are strong, but I am not. I love you so much and just am ready for you to come home to me. So here's hoping that within the next week or so I will have a brand new little baby!  However, I need you to stay put just long enough so I can take my RD exam tomorrow and have my baby shower on the 7th then you can come out. Although getting through tomorrow is the main priority. :)
