Farm Living Day 2

Here are the highlights via pictures of Day 2 of our trip.

Lo liked to start everyone's day at about 6am! So by about 930a it felt like noon. In her defense she hates sleeping in a pack and play and she likes it pitch black dark, kinda like someone else I know. ::cough Megan cough::

For lunch we picnicked at a local trail park and then did some hiking. I really enjoyed that minus the mosquitoes, but they seemed to like Auntie Meg the best! :)

Then we headed off to Story City to ride their antique carousal, according to Kreg it was built when Moses was alive. :) It was very pretty and it only cost $1/person. Of course, I assumed my daredevil child would enjoy it...NOPE! She started screaming as soon as it started. So I held her until it was over.

Here she is watching Landrey enjoy a second ride on the carousal. In her favorite stroller, which we can't not blast her out of with out a major meltdown!

Then it was more fun on the farm and an evening swim.

Finally what night would be complete without washing the stink off them. :)

Up next 4th of July on the farm.

4 Stops, 3 Poodles, 2 Adults, 1 Toddler and a Honda Pilot

Did you know it takes 6.5 hours to get to my sister's house in Iowa? 7.5 with 4 stops. Wow! That is a LOOOOONNNNGGG way! And while it was completely worth it in the end, it was completely miserable enduring the trip.

This is Lo. She hates riding in the car as of late. Not sure what the change is, but we can barely make it to Target somedays (which is less than .5 miles from our home). It is frustrating. For weeks we had been dreading the long trip to Iowa. Not because we didn't want to see my sister's family, but because we didn't want to endure 6 hours in the car with Lo. Boy were we right. This child screamed at the top of her lungs no less than every hour for 10-20 minutes. It was awesome. Nothing worked, not snacks, not toys, not silly songs, not mommy sitting in the back, nothing.

Here she is looking content after our lunch stop at Chick Fil-A. Which she did not enjoy. I can't blame her. I mean it was good, but so are Wendy's chicken sandwiches...what am I missing?! I guess I don't get what the big deal is.

To make matters more fun we got to tote up an extra poodle. My mom's dog, Moeka. He ranked #2 worst car rider. He was all over the stinkin' place. He would not sit down and be still unless he was in my lap! Annoying.

Of course here is a pic of him and Toby "sleeping." That lasted 2 minutes.

Then there was Tuck coming in at #4 worst car rider (Chad said I ranked#3). :) He too was petrified and would only remain calm as long as he was in daddy's lap, mine would not do.

The two best car riders:
Toby and Chad. :)
This is actually Tuck and Chad

Here we are at stop #4. Aren't we a sight!

I about kissed the farm house when we arrived. I was so thankful to be done in the car. Lo was very happy to be re-united with her cousin and run around on the farm.

Day 2: Auntie Misa put her hair in piggies. She looked so much older, it made me sad.

Up next Day 2 of our adventure on the farm.

These are my confessions

I know right now everyone is posting about their awesome 4th of July weekend. And I will too, in my next post. However, I learned something over my 4th of July weekend and wanted to share that first.

I, Michele, am addicted to facebook and blogs.

There I said it. Man does that feel good to admit and get off my chest. I have been feeling this way for awhile now, but like a true addict wasn't ready to admit out loud yet.

I can not tell you how nice it was this past weekend to start breaking that addiction. I was visiting my sister in Iowa and didn't have any computer access unless I used hers, which I basically refused to do, I needed the break.

You know what I found out? About my family!!!! Because guess what they are really the most important people in my life, not my facebook "friends." I use that term loosely because let's face it 90% of you are friends with me to "stalk" 'me and I you. HA!

Now don't get me wrong facebook is a great outlet and I will probably get back on at some point. But having this obsessive need to know what is going on in everyone's life like it will make or break mine is ridiculous! What I need is to FACE A BOOK! (HA! I saw that somewhere).

So I am saying so long to facebook for at least a month. I am sure my hubby, daughter and house will thank me for it.

Now for blogging I will continue to blog and check blogs. But I have got to limit it. You will not believe how I jump from one blog to the next. It is a problem. I get so wrapped up in people's lives and I don't even sort of know them. (I am not referring to my bloggy friends that I have made because I am getting to know you, it is the blogs you list that is my downfall HA!).

Now in my defense I don't have cable tv and the bloggy world is my "reality" tv. And let's be honest we are all more real on here than the crap reality shows they have on ABC. HA!

Overall, my point is simple. I need to spend less time in the virtual world and more time in mine. I have to recapture my precious time and spend it doing worthwhile things.

I know a lot of you probably feel the same. Hopefully, my confession will help you re-evaluate what is truly important in your life.
