First Swim

Today we went swimming for the first time at my grandpa and grandma's pool! My cousin, Chrissie and her two boys are visiting, so we all got together for the first play date of her visit! It was fun re-living our childhood swim days with our babies. Lo had such a good time, even getting ready for her swim...which was a feat in itself. Have you ever had to put a baby in a one piece swimsuit?! She is definitely wearing her two piece next time (Thanks Aunt Kady, I guess you knew what you were doing! ;) )

Here is a montage of the afternoon!
I am already to go! Yea for kicky kicky time!

A family shot, isn't she TOO cute in her get-up!

Floating in my crab raft! She LOVED splashing her hands in the water and kickin' her feet!

Cousin shot, they each had such cool rafts!

L.Jo got tired so in true L.Jo fashion she fell asleep!
Wish mine would do that!

Time to get out! My husband IS SUCH A CLOWN!
I have NO IDEA where Leighton would get it from?!?!

Here are the 4 GREAT grandchildren!
(and there is 1 more due in September, my Cousin Travis and his wife are expecting a boy!)

It was a great evening! And we can't wait to go back next week for more kicky kicky time!

"It's good to have role models"

This is what my husband is always telling me when I get home from the grocery store. Why? Because I am always SO EXCITED about how much I saved. I am very slowly learning and getting tips from The Money Saving Mom. She always inspires me when she posts her weekly shopping click here to see an example of how she does it!
I am not great at it yet, but I am getting there! Today, I went to Dillons and saved $33.74! I walked away with all this for only $69.59!

I am pretty impressed with myself, but a little annoyed at myself for not starting this sooner!!! Why did we wait to start saving money until we were desperate to...you know so I could stay home?! Very frustrating, but I guess better late than never! But kind of sad to think of the stuff we could have had paid off or saved, IF we would had started sooner!

I will say this isn't easy to do, it takes time and plenty of thought...but if you just start out slow, you can do it too!
Here's to happy shopping!

A FULL House

Leighton is nearly 5 months old and we already need to move!
How is it someone so small can need SO MUCH stuff!?! I feel like I pack everything but the kitchen sink when we go to visit anyone! Some of you probably agree, and others probably think I am nuts.

So of course, today I rushed out to get her some MORE "stuff!"
I have been noticing that she isn't having as much fun playing on the floor, and really likes to sit up and play. However, she can't sit-up with out assistance, so I thought she might like a walker or exersaucer! Do you know how expensive those things are?! I mean the "fun" ones! We have been blessed that most of her toys have been borrowed from friends!! (I promise I will wash all the spit-up off, before I return them! :) )

Anyway, I went to kid to kid today in search of a gently used one to save some $$! And this is what I found!

It is awesome because it cost us $40 and it is a 2-in-1 that I have not seen before. When she is done using it as an exersaucer it converts into a walker thing that she can push around while learning to walk!!!

Thanks mommy and daddy for my cool new toy! I love it!!
Of course, I am a little short for it...but it is stll fun!!

I know I am easily excited, but this really made my day!!! Plus, we scored these adorable sunglasses too! All in all a good day!
