Brain Dump {aka 5 minute or more Friday}

Oh my goodness I am tired. In my last post I talked about "turning up my doing dial." Well, someone PLEASE come turn it off!! I am so ADHD-OCD it isn't even funny. I can't stop. Everywhere I look I see a project that needs to be completed. Of course I start said project and wonder off to put something up and find something else to start on then of course my OCD comes out and I can't go to bed without making sure everything is done so on it goes.
Projects currently being focused on:
1. Curtains (I am literally losing sleep over these) I am obessing about fabric, pattern, style, length, colors, you name it.
2. Kids' consignment sale that is next week. Thankfully I was on the ball from the fall and have somewhat kept up on the tagging, but as I was cleaning out my storage room/dump zone I found a bunch of baby toys/bottles and cups that need to be tagged and bagged.
3. Oh so then there is the storage room clean up which leads me to the
4. Great garage sale project. You should see our basement guest room. No one is allowed to stay the night here currently unless they want the playroom floor...oh wait...that needs help too! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I need an intervention.

We did make it outside yesterday for 3 hours! It was gorgeous; today not so much.

I am also "actively" seeking pre-k for Lo. Seriously can not believe she is old enough for that already. I know most of you put kids in pre-k for the "socialization" aspect of it because you all are these super educational fun moms and your kids were born singing the ABCs because that is all they heard from 16w gestation on...well, mine not so much. She has socialization DOWN!! This girl has got to get some learning in her! I am very worried she is going to be WAY behind when she hits Kindergarten. Chad's a teacher and they keep talking about how what they are teaching 5th graders now is what they want 3rd graders to know in a few years time, or something like that. Well, crap that means she should know long division by Kindergarten and I can't even get her to count to 12! HA! {Obviously, a little exaggerated on the long division front...I hope?!} Chad isn't worried about her, just me. He thinks I am nuts and that she is smart. The problem is I am confident she is smart, she just has no desire to show it, she would rather be a class clown. Laugh it up daddy, because you will be the one they will call when she is acting up.

On another un-related note. I have this mega annoying ear pain. I feel like a 6 year old with an ear infection. Only problem is I don't HAVE an ear infection. I have been to the doctor and an ENT specialist, sat in a hearing booth for 3 minutes, where I was found to have bat ears {aka mommy ears}, but no infection. They keep putting me on drugs and nothing helps. Pretty sure I have a brain tumor and it just referral pain, but no one knows it. {I tend to get a tad dramatic when in lots of pain...}, but it could be true, you don't know. Oh and did I mention this has been going on for 1 month now. Yeah, pretty awesome.

Well there is my brain dump for Friday. I already have big plans for the weekend. Of the project variety unless someone intervenes...

  1. I seriously laughed out loud at this post bc it sounds exactly like me! I start something then go to get something and see another project I had left so I start on that then have 10 things incomplete all through my house ;)
    I also think I have tumors or something else equally as tragic whenever there is no solution to what is going on.
    Seriously, we need to get together sometime

  2. I too thought I had a massive ear infection that no one was noticing - and it was a tooth problem! Baffling- but you might check it out!

  3. You are too funny! Just take it one project at a time and you will eventually get to all of them and I assure you, there will always be a project of some sort. It's insane!

    Lo will be just fine I promise you. Blessings!

  4. We never did pre-k/preschool of any sort. Between church and sunday school and storytime, I figured the kids got enough socialization. Besides, I'm all for keeping them home with me as long as I can! :)I especially worried about Ezra because, like your girlie, he had no desire to learn much. But once he got to school, he ate it all up and learned to read in no time flat. All that ground-work I had laid, that he seemed not to care about, apparently soaked into his brain somehow. All that to say: don't worry, she'll do great!
